We’ve had a great time with Christmas this year and loved our third and final Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Schmidt (with special guest star Uncle Abby). Santa made Chloe’s dreams come true by bringing her her very own kitchen which she absolutely adores! Top Chef here we come!

Christmas Eve
We spent Christmas Eve with Grandpa Mark and Uncle Jason this year and had an amazing time! Chloe loved exploring Grandpa Mark’s house and hanging out with the boys. Opening packages wasn’t too shabby either, Grandpa got her a new favorite doll that has yet to leave her sight!

Santa
After only getting to see Santa from the boat last week Chloe was finally able to sit and have a chat with Santa this morning. We were a little worried that she was going to be afraid after the Grinch incident on the boat but were amazed at how quickly she took to Santa, it was a big help that the Santa we went to see has had 15 years of HoHoHo’ing under his belt and was able to distract her with a candy cane and talk about Rudolph and babies. So cute..
Cheney Christmas
We had our first Christmas in our house with Uncle Jason and Grandma GiGi over the weekend and it was a hoot! After planning out Chloe’s “Christmas” morning surprise we learned that life with a toddler doesn’t always go as planned, Chloe had an attack of the anti-sleeps and got to see what Santa had brought her early. She was still just as excited to see her new toys the next morning. Hurrah for a fun and memorable first Cheney Christmas!
To the North Pole!
Last weekend we went on a cruise to the North Pole (really around Lake Couer D’Alene) We had a great time even though we only got to see Santa from the boat. Chloe really enjoyed the lights and running around on the boat but was not a big fan of the Grinch who ran around on the dock as we were leaving and returning to the dock.

Christmas Card!
Get ready get set, it’s our Christmas card photo shoot. Well really we just went to the bookstore in Spokane and took our picture in front of their tree but still get excited for your first Harris family Christmas card to arrive in the mail!
Sleep
Chloe’s been going through a bit of a rough patch in the sleep department lately, not sleep through the night and only wanting to nap if it’s in “Mom Dad ‘ed” (aka our bed). While it was endearing at first (and still is pretty sweet) I think Matthew and I could both use a full nights sleep and our bedroom back. And yes George is wearing a diaper, Chloe is pretty positive that all of her “babies” are quite frequently poopy.
Gack
Matthew took and arts and crafts class last quarter and one of his projects was to make gack which Chloe absolutely loves. We’ve had it for well over a month now and she still asks to play with it at least once a day. She love squishing it and watching it fall out of cups but does not like it when you put it on her or chase her with it (of course it took dad playing with her to figure those out!).
Kisses, Bonks, and Pat-Pat
Chloe has three main ways of showing affection at the moment, kisses (aka iss), bonks (or head butts), and pat-pats (which she picked up in Utah from her cousin Leah aka Baby Lee). Lately when you ask her for a kiss she giggles and says no but if you ask for a bonk she is more than happy to oblige.
The House that Chloe Built (or ate)
Chloe got to go to her first Graham Cracker house building party the other night and love it! The attention, the crackers, the candy she was able to sneak, staying up late, and all of the Christmas decorations adorning our friends house. Our friend Kelly helped Chloe build and decorate her house which ended up being a silly face
Cindy Lou Who
A few of our friends are adamant that Chloe looks like Cindy lou Who from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” so for fun we broke out the new camera and had a little photo shoot with Chloe’s “Rinch”, the ones where is looks like she is eating him she is in fact giving him an “iss”
Cowgirl Chloe!
Chloe inherited cousin Lauren’s Cowboy hat and now can not ride her pony with out it. Maybe she’ll be America’s Next Top Rodeo Star!
